History
In 1999, we began researching the safety of vaccines thanks to a Doctor and a Chiropractor we met who were well versed in the background and history of the vaccination program. We continued our research and began advocating at the Iowa State Capitol with other groups of health freedom advocates and some incredible individuals we met along the way. We were concerned that the religious and conscientious choice of parents was being challenged every year, and knew that parents and legislators were having a difficult time finding FACTUAL information on the issues surrounding vaccine safety.
Iowans for Informed Consent was launched in 2006 and we began helping parents learn the truth so that they could make a FULLY informed decision regarding their children’s health care. Through workshops and educational emails we began to share. We hosted several events at the Capitol and began to help other families learn how to connect with their legislators.
Now, with Social media, we are able to connect with parents through private groups, public pages and other social media venues. We continue to organize groups to visit with legislators, help legislators introduce bills to protect our freedoms and give the public more information, host dinners with legislators, organize volunteers, work with other health freedom groups in Iowa and around the country, and meet with parents to answer their questions.
